1. Always carry back-ups.
Batteries always seem to die at the worst possible times. The same goes for atomizers. A lot of people are completely dependent on their e-cig to keep them from smoking, and yet they only have 1 set-up. This seems like a no-brainer for many, but having a back-up battery to rotate on the charger can be the difference between needing a cigarette and not. The same goes for your atomizer. The general rule of thumb is to have at least all of the parts you need to make two functioning e-cigs. If one of them falls into the ocean, you’re still vaping.
2. Use higher-nicotine, lower-power indoors
One trend that seems to be getting stronger is that electronic cigarette use is being retroactively included in existing smoking regulations. This means it’s becoming harder and harder to get away with vaping anywhere, which means we’re losing one of the major benefits of e-cigs. This is partly because of people flaunting their use, or blowing huge clouds of vapor out in situations where that might not be appropriate. A better alternative is to use lower-powered, less conspicuous devices in situations where smoking is currently banned. Less vapor means less satisfaction for the user, so offset this by using a higher nicotine e-liquid. Having a low-powered “stealth vaping” set up and a more powerful “cloud chucker” satisfies tip number 1 as well.
3. Keep it clean
Again, for some this is a no-brainer, but many who are new to vaping and have no experience with traditional pipes are not away of this. The screw joint of the battery needs to be wiped out every once in a awhile, and tanks should be rinsed out as well. Most tanks can be completely disassembled for easy cleaning and drying. Make sure the tank is completely dry before trying to use it again. Water doesn’t vape very well.
4. Don’t drip and drive
If anyone else claims they came up with this, I was saying it to customers back in 2010. That being said, it’s as true now as it was back then. Tanks/clearomizers are much better-suited for use while operating a motor vehicle.
5. Save your money
You used to spend about 5 to 8 dollars a day on cigarettes. Take that money and put it in a jar instead. Only use the money in that jar for vaping expenses. If you used to spend $150 per month on cigarettes, and you currently spend $50 per month on e-liquid and parts, you are now saving $100 per month. You’ll be surprised at how fast the money in that jar accumulates.
